Summer School
In accordance with a decision by our University Senate, the summer school program has been discontinued effective the 2025–2026 academic year, and make-up exams will continue to be administered. Accordingly, our Faculty will not offer a summer school program. However, our Faculty’s students may take courses at another institution of higher education as part of the summer school program, provided that the institution is listed in the attached list.
Universities Where Our Faculty Students Can Take Courses During Summer School and Required Procedures
If our university’s students wish to take courses at other universities during the summer session in the 2025–2026 academic year, they must pay attention to the following points.
This is announced to our students.
According to Article 15 of the YTÜ Summer School Guidelines, approved by the Senate on January 26, 2012, under No. 2012/01-04:
b) YTÜ students may take courses subject to the approval of their department and a decision by the relevant Administrative Board, in accordance with the “YTÜ Course Equivalency and Transfer Principles.”(*) (Amended by Senate Resolution No. 2017/01-05 dated January 12, 2017.)
c) The passing grade for a course taken at another higher education institution is the passing grade specified in the “YTÜ Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Education and Teaching Regulations” and the “YTÜ Graduate Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations.” If a different grading system is used, the passing grade is evaluated by referring to the “Grade Conversion Tables” included in the appendix to the “YTÜ Course Equivalency and Transfer Principles.” (Amended by Senate Decision No. 2018/07-09 dated December 6, 2018.)
d) YTÜ students may take a total of no more than 9 (nine) credit hours of courses from other higher education institutions outside YTÜ during a single Summer School term. The credits for the courses to be taken are calculated based on the credits of the courses in the curriculum of the program in which the student is enrolled. e) Matters regarding attendance, midterm exams, final exam grading, and the determination of academic standing for courses offered during Summer School are handled in accordance with the provisions of the “YTÜ Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Education and Teaching Regulations” and the “YTÜ Graduate Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations.” However, no make-up exams are administered for these exams.
f) Approved grade transcripts sent by other higher education institutions are entered into the records after being approved by the relevant Administrative Board.
g) Grades received from other higher education institutions must be reported to the relevant department chair before the end-of-semester exams of the fall semester following the summer school in which the course was taken. Special cases are evaluated by the relevant Administrative Board.
